Review of Dedication (2007) by Jamie M — 20 Feb 2008
A romantic comedy worth sharing. Dedication's protagonist, Henry Roth, fits the neurotic New Yorker type we've all come to know and love. His surly attitude makes the dry humor of this movie that much better, considering he is, in fact a children's storywriter.
The dialogues between his self and the two illustrators he interacts with are clever and entertaining, especially given the context, and the subject matter, such as where their ideas come from. Mandy Moore begins to mature as an actress in this movie, and is no longer the teenie bopper of yesteryear's straight to dvd classics, i.
E. Saved. Worth watching. Seriously. Sit down with a girl you like, and toss some Pavement in the cassette deck for post movie conversations/makeouts.
