Review of Dedication (2007) by David Y — 04 Mar 2008
An overall good movie reminiscent of a Charlie Kaufman script, well, the tonality at least. Billy Crudup (Almost Famous) and Mandy Moore lead the cast, both delivering exceptional performance and doing wonders & justice to their characters.
This is a nice comedy/drama/love story about a children's book author who has OCB & serious trust issues rendering him misanthropic & hardbitten and how love can melt the coldest of hearts.
In the end, all one ever really has to do is choose between being noble & ignoble to win someone you love. Kudos to both David Bromberg & Justin Theroux who wrote & directed respectively.
