Review of Dedication (2007) by Jess G — 09 Jul 2008
This story is as quirky and cute as it is fucked up and hilarious. Crudup out-performs almost every actor in this piece (with possible exception of Tom Wilkinson). His character doesn't change from ulitmate OCS, misanthrope to miraculously functioning; but rather from a closed state to an opening-- still terrified. There's no typical romantic comdey formula (with exception that there must be a love story) at the core of this movie.
Plus, you'll be treated to lines like this:
I have a towel I can't throw away, because it might have feelings.
