Review of Deception (2008) by Sansal K — 03 Apr 2009
Hollywood does it again, repetitive seen it all before crap. This isn't even a thriller as it's so predictable, you will be sat there thinking (or actually already knowing) what the next half baked 'twist' is going to be because it inevitably ends up being one that has been done in loads of better movies over the years.
If a movie is called Deception surely any viewer is going to be looking for clues from the get go and they are so obvious I just sat there shaking my head at the lack of imagination all the way through.
Personally I didn't really like any of the performances that much either. Character wise Ewan McGregor's character is such a drip that it becomes annoying to watch and by the end (spoiler alert!!) commits a huge crime without batting an eyelid. It's ridiculous and Hugh Jackman's character is one big cliche. Michelle Williams is pretty and does okay in what little character she is given but in all honesty give this movie a miss, there are way better 'thrillers' out there.
