Review of Deception (1946) by Ruth W — 08 Aug 2009
There are some wonderful moments in this film, and the interaction between Davis, Rains, and Henreid is electric, but there was something flat about the plot and it dragged in some places. Very stunning lighting and visual feel about the film.
The scene in the french restaurant is a masterpiece of how to build tension in a non-Hitchcock sort way.
