Review of Death Wish II (1982) by Gord T — 08 Sep 2007
Goddamn this is a good one! brono has been kicked out of new york and moves his business to los angeles. of course, trouble has no difficulty crossing paul kerseys path when he is mugged by a gang on his way to icecream.
he tries to get his wallet back but the gang comes back for revenge in the biggest (and first for laurence fishburne) gang rape scene I have ever seen in a movie (laurence does it almost "fishy style" on the poor hispanic woman) before kerseys daughter is raped before jumping out a window and impaling herself on top of a fence.
not a good first impression of LA. bronson goes on the hunt to find and kill the gang and does it quite effectively throughout the movie. This is a vicious and hard death wish movie and a good lead up into the action packed death wish 3.
paul kersey is always a loveable badass who finds all the right places to be (and wearing some tough ass outfits in doing so). this movie provides a wide variety of deaths and great close up hand to hand action scenes.
this movie is a fuckin classic.
