Review of Death Wish 3 (1985) by Simon S — 16 Oct 2007
So hilarious, so unnecessarily violent. The first Death Wish had Bronson happening upon muggers, and then shooting them (all basically the same way). In the 2nd one, he hunts down 6 specific gang members who killed his daughter. And now this one, dare I say the most entertaining one, is just an all-out war.
He moves back to NY, where his friend gets killed as soon as Bronson gets off the friggin bus. From there, he wages war against a weird-looking gang who paint equal signs on their foreheads and whose leader has a bad A Flock of Seagulls-but-20-years-later look to him. The rocket launcher at the end is stupendous. Right up there with Commando in regards to corny action.
