Review of Death Wish 3 (1985) by Kevin R — 07 Aug 2011
Mister Vigilante.
Paul Kersey is an architect that has been out of the New York vigilante business for ten years and lives in Los Angeles. He catches a plane to New York to visit an old friend. When he arrives in his friend's apartment, he discovers his friend dead on the apartment floor after being attacked by some local hoodlums. Paul may have to get back in the vigilante business to obtain revenge for his friend's death.
"We're stealing the car. What's the problem?".
"It's my car.".
Michael Winner, director of Bullseye, Death Wish I and II, The Big Sleep, The Wicked Lady, Chato's Land, The Mechanic, and Some Like it Cool, delivers Death Wish III. The storyline for this picture was on par with the first two films with a little more action. This film is paced better than the first two pictures and the cast delivers solid performances for the genre. The cast includes Charles Bronson, Deborah Raffin, Ed Lauter, and Alex Winter.
"What are these?".
"Teeth.".
Charles Bronson has become one of my favorite action genre actors. I found this picture more entertaining than the original because, like the second film, it focused more on the action than the story (none of the film have a great story). Overall, this is a worthwhile picture for fans of Charles Bronson or action genre but is nothing special as a whole.
"Yo bitch, come here. I'm going to lick you all over.".
Grade: C+.
