Review of Death Wish 3 (1985) by Stuart M — 31 Aug 2009
During the 80s Cannon films were responsible for some so bad its good movies.
Along with Delta Force, invasion USA and Lifeforce they kept Charlie Bronson in work as the man who stomps bad guys.
Lets be honest here Michael Winner could not direct traffic, here he bludgens his method home and deals in stock characters and lashings of over the top violent cliche.
By the end of the film Bronson has wiped out hundreds of New York street scum with the aid of his Wildey Magnum and a machine gun better suited to the tail gun of a heavy bomber.
The lead villian is so pantomime you expect boo/hiss title card to appear everytime he does.
Yet for all its faults the film is a Gulity Pleasure as a lot of Cannon films are .
It may not win any Oscars but fans of stupid dumb action movies will have a ball here.
