I was very impressed with this movie. I waited since the supposed pro critics slammed it but seeing the audience reviews I went today and it was actually way better than the original. A couple of cringe moments for anyone who knows guns but not bad overall and I thought they improved on the story with some of the detail changes.
The fact that a lot of people see it as inappropriate because people get shot is nonsense, no reasonable person has an issue with "people being shot" it is are the right people being shot. If you enjoy a revenge movie then this is great, if you want gun porn with scenes where there is some skill displayed then you should look elsewhere.
It's not a John Wick gun porn type flick. it just happens to use them as they are the most efficient tool be it for good or bad use. Being set in Chicago with some of the most strict gun laws we see the truth that such nonsense only disarms those with no intent to harm and emboldens those who don't have an issue with violating others.
I thought I would like it after seeing the audience score at 85% vs. 16% for the pros but it exceeded my expectations.
