Review of Death Wish (1974) by David C — 20 Apr 2008
Charles Bronson packs a .38 in his shopping bag, and wanders around the mean streets and subways wasting muggers who clearly have it coming.
Not a lot here by way of nuanced exploration of the vigilante or mugger psyche, as I recall, rather a video game approach to wasting the bad guys, the pretext being largely a thing of convenience in this context.
I believe there were at least four sequels to this in much the same vein, which tells me more than I want to know about audience demographics.
