Review of Death Wish (1974) by Explodingboy1989 — 21 Feb 2009
The movie that began America's love affair with vigilante Paul Kersey. Very much a product of its time (the 1970s), Death Wish is an interesting Bronson film that is really more entertaining when viewed as a precursor- a sort of setting the template, if you will- to the more extreme and outlandishly fun sequels.
I think this is also the movie with the lowest body count on Kersey's part (11 or 12). I'd recommend Death Wish 3 or 4, but this is good to remind oneself that even the most amazing testaments to bad movie making had humble beginnings.
