Review of Death Riders (2011) by Mike M — 27 Jan 2011
Presumably, on certain US campuses, this stuff really is life and death; over here, it just comes across as the pretext for a flimsy runaround that doesn't even have the gumption to aim for the low cynicism of "Very Bad Things".
A whole dorm's worth of young performers have signed on with the hope of catching the eye of bigger and better casting agents, but this is not the material from which lasting careers are forged: everyone expresses themselves with a level of shouty inarticulacy such as you'd possibly expect into the small hours of a kegger, and you can more or less guess how nefarious the characters are from the length of designer stubble each actor has cultivated for the occasion.
