Review of Death Riders (2011) by Robert C — 11 Feb 2011
It starts off full throttle and doesn't really ever stop. What I enjoyed about the picture was the way more and more obstacles were thrown at us as the movie goes along. We never forget how high the stakes are, and most of the behavior and decisions seem natural, even the bone-headed ones; they are frat boys after all. The opening is particularly inventive, and well paced. As is the ending.
However I should say that because the intensity is so high right off the bat, there is really nowhere for the characters to go from there. Everyone is playing at level 10 the whole way through, without build or arc, and that can get a little exhausting to watch. Also, there is some racial violence, and some male cheavonism that I don't realy think adds anything to the film. Except make The Brotherhood less likable, when we're supposed to root for them to get out of this.
