Review of Death Race (1973) by Vas S — 17 Apr 2010
Exactly what it say's on the tin, plenty of action and a very decent action movie. Statham is again on top form playing Jensen Ames whom is framed for his Wifes murder, so the Warden of a high security Prison can have him race in Death Race, where prisoners are promised a pardon/release from prison if they can win 5 races.
Ian Mcshane is good in the supporting role to Statham as his head mechanic and Janaya Stephens adds a bit of something easy on the eye to keep you interested further, as if the fast paced action from the races isn't enough to keep you gripped.
I really enjoyed this film and wouldn't hesitate if I have the chance to watch it again.
