Review of Death of a Salesman (1985) by Arseniy V — 11 Dec 2007
The creators here understand something fundamental about human nature, but on a very gut level. The writer, the director, the actors. There may be a few instances where they try to intellectualize this understanding into a broader perspective than it can cope with.
This may diminish its power a little bit. But certainly not by very much. Because the moments where this gut understanding does click into place between the three of them, these moments dominate the film and do so in spectacular fashion.
