Review of Death of a President (2006) by Juan D — 10 Jul 2007
While this movie is presented as a fake documentary, it really wants to be a suspense film and as a result, some of the realism is lost. While the interview portions seem like they could have been pulled straight out of a real doc about the assassination of Bush, the overall structure is pure fiction.
This isn?t a movie about the assignation of a president, it?s a movie about who pulled the trigger. If this was a real documentary, we?d already know the answer to that question and so we?d have a very different type of film then this one.
Despite that fact, this is a pretty good movie and up until the actual shooting occurs, you could almost mistake it for being the real thing.
