Review of Death Note (2017) by Zee A — 25 Aug 2017
I feared it would be god awful, and I wasn't too far from the truth. The cinematography was stunning, but the storytelling was cliche and the whole plot was an artistic liberty. Almost every important detail from the original series was cast aside for gruesome death scenes.
Every movie cliche was included from "The Nerdy Smart kid getting beat up by the bullies to save the pretty girl" to a Ferris Wheel breaking down for absolutely no reason other than plot convenience.
Just don't watch it if you're a fan of the anime, it's a serious letdown.
