Review of Death Note (2017) by Shana V — 27 Aug 2017
I'm aware that the director was recreating a new genra of Death note , no a remake from the anime. And I wanna say that, in one of the bts footage, he said the movie will be not a recap from the manga but new one, based on the anime.
But I can't say that I love the movie. I'm to attached with the original caracters to love thoses ones.
First the romance. Light is absolutetly not letting anyone in is path by influencing his descision , espcially not by Misa (or in this case Mia ). He's the head from the entire killing thing , and love is the last thing for him. He tolorates Misa only because she posseses an other death note book (WITH THE EYES TOO) and she willing to do everything that he wants to please him. In this one , it looks like that Mia is almost the head descion ( wich yeah feminine power ! but still piss me off beacause its not like the original ). And she never even think about rebelling Light in anyways.
LETS TALK ABOUT RYUK ! In the death note , Ryuk says to Light that he parts with NO ONE , he's neutral from the start and he's only there beacause is bored in the death world and he need new distration, that's the reason of his presence in the human world. The only thing he supposes to care about it's the apples.
WATARI : That's not real name, so Light wasn't suppose to be able to kill him or to share the information about L because he write it so on the death note. FAKE NAMES DON'T WORK.
L : L was theeeee last to be in a panic mode. He's always on the chill mode and I can't understand why the portrait him as someone more impulsive.
Anyway, the movie was a no for me.
