Review of Death in Venice (1971) by I Don't Know W — 22 May 2011
This is possibly the most moving film I've ever seen. Absolutely heart-wrenching, it really shook me (...although it has to be said if you're not gay it probably won't have that sort of effect on you!) Incredibly subtle, exquisitely directed with a very moving soundtrack that entirely induces the excruciating longing and ultimate tragedy of Thomas Mann's bold tale of love forlorn.
