Review of Death Defying Acts (2007) by Tina C — 13 Apr 2008
It's ultimately that..everything we do, every small token of human-ness we hang onto-relationships, possessions, aspirations, it is ultimately that.Tiny lil tricks to affirm life, to perform death-defying acts.
and houdini did exactly taht ina spectacualr way..he set out to conquer the looming spectres of afterlife and death with his cheap conjuring tricks and the title of the movie like the daggy names of those antiquated circus shows, captures that juxtaposition of the intangible, intimidating, incoherent huge-ness of life and our petty lil attemtps to master it.
