There's the seed of a fascinating plot here, as Harry Houdini seeks out psychics who can tell him the last words of his dying mother to prove the existence of an afterlife. Shame it's mired in a rather tedious love story which drags down any sense of mystery until, by the big reveal, you may well be too disinterested t care.
