Review of Death at a Funeral (2007) by Nate B — 12 Oct 2009
Director Frank Oz takes us to the one place laughs usually never occur: a funeral. The saddening nature of a funeral is completely reworked into a fairly funny movie. To Oz?s credit, this movie is darkly funny, without ever forcing any laughs from the viewer.
If it had not been as is it were, this would have been a very boring look at the grieving process. As it is, it?s generally entertaining, without taking itself too seriously.
