Review of Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father (2008) by Jennifer X — 30 Apr 2011
Dear Zachary is one of the finest, most organic documentaries I've seen in a very long time. I love that Kurt Kuenne ltried to et the events speak for themselves and remain objective, but it was clear that he had an emotional stake in the material, which definitely added to the push and pull tension behind the camera.
It's everything my ideal documentary should be - heartrending, adorable, narratively transfixing.
