If someone is planning a murder, he or she should make escape plans to Newfoundland. And if you are the victim of a murder, hope that you were childhood friends with a good documentarian who will tell your tale.
It is really two stories that bounce the viewer between anger and sadness. One the tragedy of a good man's murder, and the other being the tragicly disastrous shortcomings of the Newfoundland legal system.
Due in part to this documentary and the tireless efforts of the victims parents Canadian Parliament passed laws that will greatly reduce the possibilities of such things happening in the future.
