Review of Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father (2008) by Nicole A — 09 Apr 2012
As a big fan of documentaries, I randomly rented this one a couple years ago. It looked interesting enough. This one has stayed with me ever since and will so for the rest of my life. I have yet to see another story to top this one.
My god. It is hauntingly tragic and, at times, seems unreal. You can't believe it's not some Hollywood noir but instead, a painful reality. The fact that it really happened is what makes it so mesmerizing and completely horrifying.
A must watch for anyone who loves Docus and craves that realness. But be warned: This is as real as it gets. Not an easy watch, but an important one.
