Review of Dear White People (2014) by Kyle B — 24 Oct 2014
It's smart and sports a great lead, why does this kove only hit average for me then? The story is witty enough but seems to not have the teeth I had hoped for, the first half feels unbearably long the movie devolving into characters spouting speeches at each other, a bad sign.
The second half is solid and the finale is pretty good, the build up of tensions is apparent but it felt a little overdone, a little forced. This is more of a disappointment then a bad movie, satire continues to be an acquired taste that I don't have still.
