Dear White People is a hugely confident debut for writer-director Justin Simien, one that's hilarious, pointedly intelligent, insightful and appropriately demanding of discussion. It's immediately clear that Simien is a filmmaking voice to watch, and I'll gladly be there for whatever he does next.
