Review of Dear John (2010) by Tyler N — 06 Feb 2011
This surprised me. Formulaic to an extent, but not perfectly. I was far from convinced by the setup, but it panned out, and even found some originality. Wasn't sure about the acting at first either, but I'm glad I didn't judge too soon.
I guess critics think there's something wrong with art that's designed to make you feel raw emotion, but I personally like to cry during a movie now and then. This was just right.
