Simply put, this small gem of a film from the UK offers a moving meditation upon the importance of fatherhood as seen, ironically, from the perspective of a mother's love for her son. Great performances from then-newcomer leads Emily Mortimer and Gerard Butler, Jack McElhone as Frankie, as well as the supporting cast.
