Review of Dear Frankie (2004) by April B — 14 Jan 2012
Quiet, touching story of boy who thinks he has been receiving letters from his father for years, because his mother writes them herself and mails them to Frankie. When her son hears that Frankie's Dad will be on shore, his mother tries to find a standin, so Frankie won't be disappointed.
This quiet movie tackles the story in a tremendously real and gentle way. It's rather unusual, and leaves one wanting much more.
