Review of Deadpool (2016) by Jazzmin M — 25 Jul 2016
I had lots of fun watching this movie. I was never too familiar with Deadpool and didn't know much about him. I didn't even know he was disfigured until I watched an episode of Ultimate Spider-Man with him in it, but after seeing this film, I think he's a pretty awesome character.
Ryan Reynolds does a wonderful job in the lead role. His fiancee Vanessa is really likeable. The comedy is done well too. Being a Deadpool movie there are plenty of breaking-the-fourth-wall jokes. Even the beginning credits are hilarious.
Other characters like the X-Men Colossus and Negassonic Teenage Warhead are fun and likeable. TJ Miller is pretty funny. The villain Ajax and his assistant are good villains. The action scenes are fun.
The effects are good for the most part. The only issue that I have is that the story was a bit by-the-numbers. Overall, I think Deadpool is a fun, delightfully vulgar "superhero movie" that is sure to satisfy Deadpool fans and comic book fans.
