Review of Deadpool 2 (2018) by Freddie S — 24 May 2018
What made the first Deadpool so good was it was hilarious. It made fun of all the current comic books, especially the X-Men, it made fun of its previous incarnations, and it never took itself too seriously.
Deadpool 2 reaches out and starts going after all sorts of franchises, continues to make fun of comic book films, but goes a little too dramatic/serious at times for my liking. While the tone was darker, like so many sequels, I needed more humor to compensate, and didn't get it.
It was funny, but too many serious dark parts in between the humor, in my very humble opinion. Logan was in the back of their mind somewhere I'm sure!
