Review of Deadfall (2012) by Sarah K — 08 Dec 2012
Not as bad as some reviews are portraying, but admittedly the first 45 minutes is a bit if a trial - flat characters, clunky dialogue and way too many "saw that coming" moments. There are kinder things to be said about the second half though, thankfully.
If you can get past a hastily hashed out snowmobile chase sequence, the storyline finally recovers with a decently thrilling final encounter. Eric Bana, completely underused for most of the movie, finally shines with some legitimately tense moments and a mostly satisfying conclusion.
The last 25 minutes or so are well worth it; it's just a shame the lead up to is so underwhelming.
