Review of Dead Space: Downfall (2008) by Fazz K — 31 Oct 2008
Where to begin? Great game and... great movie. Both with there faults, but none the less a brilliant effort, by a super team with a decent story. So it's peices of many other sci-fi horrors etc but still some fresh ideas in there and what I enjoy, cold hard action with a touch of sadness.
This animated prequel is let down by the below average animation, because I couldn't help but sit there enjoying this animated film thinking how much better it could be with some real artwork put into it or dare I say, I 'live' action version. I honestly believe with a slight script trim, some more work on the characters, with more scenes and obviously more of a budget, this would make a fantastic modern horror-sci-fi that would be up there with some of the similar genre greats, like Aliens, Riddick and Blade.
Anywho, I would like to see more and in respect to the game, I haven't stop playing the game for over a week and I'm usually only a casual gamer. The Xbox 360 and PS3 editions are pretty much the same, but the PC edition is just that little better with a real texture feeling and slightly better audio (iMHO).
Maybe this should be re-proccessed for the iMax in 3D.
...and maybe you should not be reading any more of my boring words and go watch the movie and play the game... if you can stop playing FarCry 2 or Fallout 3. ;).
