Review of Dead Snow (2009) by Mareen K — 15 Jul 2010
SPOILERS In the way of a splatter film, this is quite nice. There's plenty gore, and it's as disgusting and amateurish as required -- although it is a bit distracting how the zombies look like they belong in Michael Jackson's "Ghosts" dance entourage.
There's humor, there's a little erotica, and there's references to other films and horror classics (the guy in the Braindead shirt dies in a Braindead-worthy way). And of course the idea to combine Nazis and zombies is great.
Who could be scarier than zombies that already were brutal bastards in life? It kinda felt like they didn't exploit that brilliant idea all the way though.
