Review of Dead Snow (2009) by Julianne Z — 15 Jan 2015
Zombies are never films you should take seriously and which is why they work as comedies and this is no exception. A wicked cast of unknowns and proof that foreign horror comedies work, with its unusual twist to the genre and buckets of blood and laughs.
It was never going to win with horror and it's not at all scary but the laughs and gore come at a tremendous pace, if a little slow at the beginning. Beautiful backgrounds, blood shown on white surfaces, great cast, well written plot and slickly directed.
It's an insane film but a funny one nonetheless. Won't be for everyone but the funniest zombie flick since Shaun of the Dead. A zombie film you've got to watch. Hilarious.
