Review of Dead Silence (1989) by Dan B — 03 Jan 2010
Saw director Wan seems locked in a battle between the inherent creepiness of the subject (haunted ventriloquistsâ?? dummies) and the risibility of the story-telling. Risibility wins, though itâ??s not without its moments and the alternate opening and ending suggest there might conceivably have been a slightly better movie left in the edit suite.
