Review of Dead Ringers (1988) by Anna A — 19 Jul 2008
Cronenberg is just a master. This film is so deliberately made with such a tension of atmosphere that its difficult to shake. I find the gynecological instruments and sexual stuff rather disturbing, even as a person of the male persuasion.
Jeremy Irons gives a twin performance that is subtly distinguishable at times, other times it is a total mystery which is which, and that's obviously the point. One of Cronenberg's most fascinating pieces.
