Review of Dead Ringers (1988) by Jenny G — 04 May 2009
Jeremy Irons is dry as usual, which doesn't help when these two characters are supposed to be identical, but with different personalities. I couldn't truly tell who was who half the time (which was probably a point that was meant to be made).
That said, I do like the premise of the movie. It doesn't go into the over-top weirdness (although the 'surgical tools' get close) as most Cronenberg films do, so it's a different and hopefully a nice surprise for fans.
