Review of Dead Ringers (1988) by Jennifer O — 14 Oct 2007
I'm still enjoying Ottawa with my sweetie and his family.
Two nights ago I saw Spirited Away for the first time ever and it was wonderful, just wonderful. I'm not really into anime films at all, though I have to say that if a movie is good/great I will love it no matter what the genre.
It was beautiful and I could kick myself for not listening to the people who told me to watch it a long time ago. Probably closer to 9.5 than a 10, but I tend to be cheap with the 10s.
-------------------------.
I also saw Dead Ringers (my favorite Cronenberg movie) for the third time and it was still as great as ever. That movie takes a lot out of me; it's hard to come back from a movie like that because it's so damned heartbreaking, and Jeremy Irons is brilliant as the Mantle twins.
------------------------------.
Futurama is probably one of my Top Ten TV Shows of all time. Okay, maybe in the Top 20. It's just so freaking awesome. I was a regular viewer, but it just seemed to be one of those shows that Fox tried to kill on purpose by moving it around or pre-empting it. Damn, I love it. All four seasons will be mine.
---------------------------------.
The Rundown is good fun and I really enjoyed it. First time view for me as I usually can't take Sean William Scott or people like him in anything but a bodybag. :p The Rock is so incredibly charismatic he should be a major action star, but his script choices have been poor. This is one of the exceptions, I'd say, and it was a perfect vehicle for him. He got to show his muscles, his wit, and uh, his muscles, so yeah, good one, Rock. :D.
