Review of Dead Ringers (1988) by Blind P — 11 Mar 2010
What was building as an excellent character study began to destruct along with it's characters until it became implausible and a chore to finish watching.
Jeremy Irons performance is stellar, as is Geneviève Bujold's.
When the drug addiction starts, I just can't buy in to how such intelligent symbiotic beings could fall so far in such short order.
I reluctantly give it a pass because of the first half and the fact that it is a different movie, and since I rail on so often about Hollywood cliche that fact must elevate it.
It stresses how much plot points mean to me. I'm there to be told a story. If something about said story begins to bother me, I cannot enjoy myself.
