Review of Dead Ringers (1988) by Paul P — 30 Aug 2009
It starts off brilliantly. The story has so many different way it can go and with Cronenberg you're not safe and I love that! Jeremy Irons is fantastic, playing the dual role he's able to let the audience know which twin he is with subtle body language, such an amazing actor.
But as soon as Genevieve Bujold's character leaves around the midway point the movie hits a major lull and it gets worse scene by scene. You can have brilliant direction and great acting(which this film does) but if the story doesn't grab you at all what's the point?
