Review of Dead Poets Society (1989) by Mohamed F — 04 Oct 2010
An inspiring little gem that packed more potential than what it actually turned out to be, a must see for anyone who thinks about pursuing a career in education.
This is my first time to actually watch the whole movie, been catching glimpses of it on TV but this is the first time to get the full experience.
The script was far from perfect, it tells the story in a very traditional way, but at times it needed some trimming, though it's full of great moments and some great quotes, but characters were mostly shallow and 'Mr. Keating' had very little screen time in a 2hr long flick.
Nothing special about the directing, it was rather sloppy and straightforward, it actually took away a lot from the movie and it didn't help the movie live to its full potential.
