Review of Dead of Night (1974) by Rod E — 31 Jan 2013
Atmospheric chiller from the early 70's kind of in the same tone as Clark's Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things. A soldier presumed dead in Vietnam comes home undead and gets more zombie over the course of the movie.
The score was good and the acting was over the top but Richard Backus was pretty good as the unresponsive and chair rocking Andy. Right where it was at the make or break point with me thinking "this has got to got to go somewhere else" then comes along the double date and have to say that it was a worthy climax and closure.
There were a lot of neat shots and Andy looked cool with the sunglasses and gloves.
