Review of Dead Man's Shoes (2004) by Les G — 22 Jun 2008
The plot outline - A disaffected soldier returns to his hometown to get even with the thugs who brutalized his mentally-challenged brother years ago. Nothing new but yet Dead Man's Shoes is like a breath of fresh air.
This brit thriller is downbeat, violent and brutal yet it effectively deals with conscience and humanity. Lead actor and co-screenwriter Paddy Considine is terrific, not to mention the beautiful cinematography of Derbyshire and a heartfelt soundtrack.
