Review of Dead Man Walking (1995) by Sparrow H — 04 Dec 2011
Good performances, but they distorted the true story severely and actually made everyone LESS likable than what actually happened, according to the book. My favorite part of the book talked about how one of the murder victim's father had instantly forgiven the murderers and always prayed for them and their families.
This kindness and amazing forgiveness was not shown in the film at all - if they truly wanted to make a film AGAINST death penalty, they should've stuck to the book, rather than combining the killers as one.
The film made EVERYONE look worse than they actually were... so disappointed :-(.
