Social commentary seems to be difficult to integrate into film without being corny or preachy. Considering this film achieves that with a topic like capital punishment AND manages to be a well made film in the process, Tim Robbins has to be one incredibly intelligent director.
Great acting, great writing and well shot. And the subject matter manages to actually be interesting for once.
