Review of Dead Like Me: Life After Death (2009) by Aron K — 24 Feb 2009
Wonderful. If you were a fan of the series, I really don't know how you can dislike this film. Rarely does a film made based on a TV show live up to the expectations, but this one does more than that.
Not only do we get a great story and continuation of the series but we see wonderful performances by those involved. When I had first heard that Rube was not going to be in this film, I was understandably doubtful, but the way they worked around it was perfect and it set up the ending of the film PERFECTLY.
My only negative thoughts are that the woman they had replace Daisy didn't live up to Laura Harris. I would have enjoyed some more of Mason as well. BUT those were really minor, as in the film if they were to try to expand on mason they would have been trying to cram too much into one flick.
They definitely have the opportunity to do so in later films. I don;t know how they will fix Daisy and bring the power of the character back, however. Overall this film was just wonderful in story, presentation and if they never make another Dead Like Me project, I will be content as this was fantastic.
(But I do want more.).
