When I watched this I assumed it was based on a comic as it even used a comic in its beginning. Some of the characters and of the plot setting remained vague or completely unknown to me.
The movie in itself wasn't that bad, but was almost impossible to get in for someone who didn't know the back story. After seeing the movie I checked and found this is a movie that wraps up a short-lived TV series.. Well had I known that, might've watched that first.
